What a fun time.

After many many years of attending the Garden Grove Friday Nights under 4-5 different organizers it’s tough to see how the City has allowed the businesses to infringe on the parking area. At least 1/3 have disappeared. Most if not all has come from the Covid scare of 2021 but I see the future waning. I’m going to continue going every month or so but can see the end of a great place to spend a Friday night with like minded vehicle owners, friends, and neighborhood families. I see the city closing the street to auto travel in the future.

Even though I am an Australian, I got to attend that event in 3 different years when I was working over there - GREAT event, GREAT crowd, GREAT racing and even GREATER people, all topped off by GREAT country. I was born and raised in Whittier/La Habra but I'm embarrased to say this year was my first time attending the moon eyes open house but it has become one of my favorite shows. It's the "every man's " car show. Everything from totally home built rat rods that I could afford to custom roadsters I could never afford. As soon as my wife and I got there the vibe was so chill, we felt right at home. We love rockabilly music so the band sounded great and getting my picture taken with the great Gene Winfield was a highlight of my life. Can't wait for the New Year's party at Irwindale Speedway.and next years open house.
